Exclusive research for Homes & Property has revealed the prime London areas where buyers are securing discounts of up to 27 per cent. The data by LonRes shows that buying a flat rather than a house in certain wealthy neighbourhoods can prove significantly cheaper on a price per square foot basis. While a property in Chelsea will set you back more than £1,900 per square foot on average, the analysis found that flats come out around £521 cheaper per square foot in the area than houses, a difference of almost 27 per cent. The same is true across a number of London’s most prestigious postcodes, with flats being the better value option in places like Bayswater and Maida Vale, St Johns Wood and Kensington, Notting Hill and Holland Park.
