Estates Gazette Sales of houses in the most expensive areas of London reached the highest one-day level in a decade in the wake of the stamp-duty changes announced in the government’s Autumn Statement, according to LonRes and Dataloft. Buyers rushed to meet a midnight deadline for the changes on the day of the statement, saving themselves £8.4m in taxes in the process.
