Despite the high prices of Hampstead's smart family homes, the market seems to be drying up. The asking price for a six-bedroom red-brick semi near the heath has been cut by nearly a quarter since it was first put on sale in 2016 for £6.95m. Figures from LonRes reveal that, in the first half of this year, 54% of properties in Hampstead had their asking price cut before finding a buyer. Even after such reductions, the number of properties changing hands between January and June this year was 22% lower than the first half of 2015. Sold prices in the second quarter were 18% below the peak seen in the second quarter of 2015.
