Looking at London's prime property market in mid-23 is not unlike scrutinizing one of MC Escher's staircases.  Is it going up or down, approaching or retreating, light or dark? What is illusion and what's real? So much, it seems, is a matter of perception. 

Unlike these mind-bending walkways however, there are some indisputable fundamentals.  July saw the 14th interest rate rise in a row which means - with rates at 5.2% - borrowing costs are at their highest for 15 years, the time of the globabl financial crash.
